Today on Mt. Hood, winter conditions are continuing to improve at both Timberline Lodge (around 6,000’) and Mt. Hood Meadows, with cold temperatures and recent snowfall helping build the early-season snowpack. Timberline is holding onto fresh snow at elevation with limited terrain as conditions develop, while Mt. Hood Meadows remains in pre-opening mode as the base continues to stack up. With more wintry weather in the forecast, it’s a great time to get ready for the season. February 23rd Weather Update
Rain poured down from the sky drenching everything in sight. At times it was heavy making it hard to see beyond a few feet. The temperature was close to 39 degrees and the wind howled fiercely blowing from the southwest. In the afternoon the winds picked up even more reaching speeds of 33 to 43 mph with gusts that could hit 65 mph. With a 100% chance of precipitation it felt like the storm wanted to make its presence known reminding everyone of nature’s power.
April 5th Weather Update
The weather today is partly sunny with temperatures reaching a high of about 49 degrees Fahrenheit. In the morning a southwest wind will blow gently at 5 to 7 miles per hour.
