Fresh snow overnight at Timberline Lodge is keeping conditions surprisingly good for early April. Around 3 inches of new snow fell in the last 24 hours, with snow depth holding near 70 inches at mid-mountain. Overnight temperatures stayed cold in the upper 20s, helping preserve a packed powder surface with a light refresh on top.
This morning is shaping up with soft turns and windbuff conditions, especially on upper mountain terrain. Winds have been moderate out of the west, so expect some wind-affected snow in exposed areas, but overall coverage remains solid. As temperatures rise through the day, conditions will transition into softer, slightly heavier snow on the lower mountain, while higher elevations should stay in better shape longer.
The best skiing window will be early to mid-morning before warming takes hold. With spring weather settling in this week, expect classic corn cycles ahead—firm mornings followed by soft, carveable snow by late morning and early afternoon.
