Mt. Hood Weather & Snow Report – Meadowlark Ski & Sports (Sandy, Oregon)

Today on Mt. Hood, expect sunny skies with a high near 33°F and west winds 7–14 mph with gusts up to 26 mph, creating firm, fast conditions across the resorts. At Mt. Hood Meadows, groomed runs are frozen granular this morning, setting up firm and speedy for early laps. Off-piste terrain is very firm early, with some softening possible under direct sun later in the day. Coverage remains shallow in places, so watch carefully for unmarked obstacles and hidden hazards, especially if venturing off groomed trails.

    The weather today is going to be quite wintry starting with snow falling before 10 a. m. As the morning goes on we might see some sleet mixed in with the snow until noon. After that the snow will continue to fall throughout the afternoon. The temperature will be around 32 degrees which is chilly enough for a warm coat. Be prepared for strong winds as they will shift from the south to the west blowing at speeds of 15 to 31 mph making it feel even colder outside.

    Today is a bright and sunny day perfect for outdoor activities. The temperature is expected to reach around 31 degrees making it warm enough to enjoy the sunshine. A gentle north-northeast wind is blowing at 7 to 9 miles per hour bringing a refreshing feel to the air. Occasionally the wind may gust up to 20 miles per hour adding a bit of excitement to the day. It’s a great time to grab a friend head outside and soak up the beautiful weather! Today the snow conditions on the slopes offer a mix of textures for skiers and snowboarders. The groomed areas are mostly made up of frozen granular snow which feels firm underfoot but has a light layer of loose snow on top. This makes it a bit easier to glide along while still providing good control. In contrast the off-piste areas have a hard icy base that can be challenging especially with moguls that vary in size depending on where you are on the mountain. Overall it’s a day that will test your skills and provide a thrilling ride!
