January 2nd weather update

Current conditions on Mt. Hood are a reminder that winter in the Pacific Northwest can change fast. At Mt. Hood Meadows, operations have been suspended for the day due to a saturated snowpack. Recent rain and warm temperatures have caused excess moisture in the snow, and the mountain is allowing time for drainage and recovery to protect terrain and ensure better conditions moving forward. While this pause is disappointing, it helps preserve snow quality for upcoming days once colder temperatures return.

At Timberline Lodge, early-season operations continue with limited terrain. Night skiing is currently suspended until additional snowfall improves coverage. During the day, Bruno’s and Pucci lifts are spinning from 9:00am to 4:00pm, along with the Schoolyard Terrain Park and Summit Pass. Expect variable snow conditions typical of early season skiing and riding, with lift operations and available terrain subject to change as weather patterns evolve.
