Today on Mt. Hood, mountain operations are mixed as early-season conditions and recent weather continue to impact snowpack stability. At Mt. Hood Meadows, operations are suspended for the day due to a saturated snowpack caused by warm and wet conditions. The pause allows excess water to drain from the snowpack, helping protect the base and preserve terrain quality for the coming days. While today’s closure may be an inconvenience, it sets the stage for improved snow conditions once temperatures cool and the snowpack has time to recover.
At Timberline Lodge Ski Area, early-season operations continue with limited lift access. Bruno’s chair is scheduled to operate from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., while Timber Tiger will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., providing access to beginner and learning terrain. Night skiing and Summit Pass skiing remain suspended due to limited snow coverage. As is common during early-season operations on Mt. Hood, weather patterns, snowfall, and lift plans may change quickly throughout the day.
