Snow incoming

Big changes are lining up in the forecast, and it’s shaping up to be an exciting stretch for Mt. Hood skiing and riding. Over the next few days, Timberline is expected to see a significant winter storm cycle, with a heavy fall of snow arriving late Saturday and peaking Sunday morning. Temperatures will stay well below freezing, which is exactly what we want for snow quality, with daytime highs around 30°F and overnight lows dropping into the teens. Strong winds and near-gale conditions may impact lift operations at times, but they’re also a classic signal that serious snow totals are on the way. Looking a bit farther out, another major round of snowfall is possible mid-week, with colder air, increasing winds, and the potential to stack up even more fresh snow on the mountain.

For skiers and snowboarders planning a trip to Mt. Hood, this pattern could mean deepening coverage, improving conditions, and a true mid-winter feel heading into the coming week. As always, weather and lift operations can change quickly, but this is the kind of forecast that gets us fired up. If you’re gearing up, Meadowlark Ski & Sports in Government Camp has you covered with Mt. Hood ski rentals, snowboard rentals, helmets, and tuned gear ready for storm riding. Keep an eye on the forecast, plan ahead for winter driving, and get ready—this storm cycle has the potential to deliver some of the best snow of the season for Timberline and the surrounding Mt. Hood area.
