Today we can expect significant snow showers throughout the day with the possibility of heavy snowfall at times. The temperature will be around 31 degrees Fahrenheit making it a chilly day. Winds will be strong from the southwest ranging from 15 to 25 miles per hour with gusts that could reach up to 43 miles per hour. There is a 100% chance of precipitation so it is essential to prepare for winter weather. Overall we could see a total daytime snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.

Mt. HoodMeadows- ” 5:25 AM:  Lowering freezing levels today along with continued snow showers should serve to improve the snow conditions.  It’s going to feel like winter out there with a strong SW wind that will definitely be felt on exposed ridges. Temps max out in the low to mid 30’s, and will be dropping.  This is storm skiing, Wy’east style, winter style .. be sure to dress for it.  This is good news as it should bring Heather canyon and the Private Reserve back into play with significantly improved conditions.  Expect snowing and blowing with a couple fresh inches overnight and a few more inches to come today.  Enjoy the return to winter.     Snow showers are expected today bringing a magical winter wonderland to our surroundings. The snow could fall heavily at times creating a soft white blanket over everything. With temperatures staying steady around 22 degrees it will feel quite chilly outside. A west-southwest wind will blow gently but it might gust strongly at times reaching up to 29 mph. There is a 90% chance of snow and we could see between 4 to 8 inches accumulating during the day making it a perfect day to ski, snowboard, nordic ski, or snowshoe! Groomed snow is a special type of snow that combines hardpack and packed powder. This mixture is often found in places that see a lot of wind or heavy use by skiers. In off-piste areas the snow is different; it includes skier-packed powder mixed with frozen granular snow. When entering these off-piste areas it is important to be careful and watch for scoured spots. These areas can be tricky and may require extra attention to navigate safely.

    Get ready for tough and icy conditions this morning but don’t worry! As the day goes on the snow will become softer and more fun to carve and ride on. “It’s a bit cold up here at the start of the day so make sure to dress warmly!” There’s an inversion happening which means the temperatures will change based on where you are. By this afternoon temperatures are expected to climb significantly and reach the mid to upper 30s which will help melt the snow. Mt.
