December 28th weather and lift update

Early-season conditions continue across Mt. Hood, with groomed runs skiing as wind-affected packed powder and occasional wind-scoured areas, while off-groom terrain holds pockets of powder mixed with wind-affected fresh snow over a thin base. Low snow coverage means reducing speed and skiing with caution is strongly recommended. At Timberline Lodge, Summit Pass is scheduled to open at 9am, with no Summit Pass shuttle and no ski access between Timberline and Government Camp; Alpine Trail remains closed. Meanwhile at Mt. Hood Meadows, Molly’s Lift is expected to operate for advanced terrain only, with night skiing planned from 4–9pm as conditions allow. Looking ahead, the forecast calls for mostly dry weather, generally light winds, and classic freeze-thaw conditions, meaning firmer mornings followed by softer surfaces in the afternoon. As always, early-season operations can change quickly. If you’re heading up the mountain, Meadowlark Ski & Sports has you covered with ski rentals, snowboard rentals, snowshoe rentals, and cross-country ski rentals so you’re ready for whatever Mt. Hood delivers.
