January 6th weather update

Your first Tuesday of 2026 is off to a strong start at Mt. Hood Meadows with smooth, early-morning corduroy and winter firmly in place. Overnight lows in the low 20s helped the groomers lock in quality turns, and a winter storm warning points to fresh snow building through the afternoon. Expect moderate to gusty winds, colder temps, and classic storm-day riding conditions—bundle up and be ready for changing weather as the day progresses. Today also features Provide to Ride from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, supporting local food security, so bring your cans and hams and enjoy a discounted lift ticket while riding for a great cause. Value Pass holders can ride all day today. The Nordic Center is closed with no grooming; reopening is tentatively expected Thursday, so check back for updates.

At Timberline, telemetry shows cold and wintry conditions overnight with temperatures around 21–23°F, high humidity, and steady west-northwest winds with gusts into the mid-20s mph. Light precipitation has continued, helping maintain base depth and setting the stage for improving snow quality as the storm cycle continues. Expect firm early conditions with snow quality improving throughout the day, especially at higher elevations. Conditions and lift operations may change quickly with weather.
