Good morning skiers and riders! Conditions around Mount Hood are trending spring-like again today, with firm snow early and a softer surface developing as the day goes on. At Mt. Hood Meadows, groomed runs are starting the morning on the firm side after an overnight refreeze, then transitioning to more forgiving, edgeable snow by late morning and afternoon. Away from the groom, expect a mix of packed snow and firmer sections with bumps in places, along with thin coverage and variable surfaces. Keep your head up for changing conditions, low-snow areas, and natural obstacles, and adjust your speed as things soften.
Temperatures are expected to climb into the upper 40s near the base with light northerly winds. Meadows is operating from 9 AM to 9 PM, with parking directed to the Main Lodge or Sunrise lots as needed.
Up at Timberline Lodge, lifts are spinning daily from 9 AM to 4 PM, with Schoolyard and Thunder terrain parks open. Palmer will be open until 3 PM today for higher-elevation laps. Timberline shuttles are running from 9 AM to 4:30 PM, weather and traffic permitting. Early-season conditions remain in effect—please respect all closed areas, stay on managed terrain, and watch for variable snow, active operations, and unmarked obstacles.
If you’re heading up the mountain, stop by Meadowlark Ski & Sports in Sandy, Oregon for ski and snowboard rentals, spring waxes, and quick tunes to match today’s conditions.
